Colorado Springs Zoo

We took Miles to the Colorado Springs Zoo this weekend. It's not as big as the Denver Zoo, but it's located on the side of Cheyenne Mountain so the views are beautiful. Miles got to go on his first pony ride and see a lot of animals up close. It was really hot so we only stayed for a couple of hours, but it was long enough to see most of the exhibits. It's nice to see that every time we take Miles to a new place he enjoys it a little bit more.

View of Will Roger's Shrine from the zoo. Chris took my dad up here once and he was not too fond of the experience.

Snow Leopard

Miles visits with a baby Wallaby (He wouldn't pet it and I wasn't encouraging it since I didn't feel like washing his hands again.)

Penguins staring at the wall

Miles saying "penguin"

Riding the carousel with Mommy (Daddy says he can't go on, it makes him sick.....likely excuse!)

Looking at monkeys with a friend (Her parents felt bad she was in so many of our pictures, but Miles kept following her around.)

Wondering where the pretty girl went

$3 gets you two laps around

All done....he was all smiles when he got off the pony, waving goodbye as we walked away.

The meerkats seemed very interested in the gathering crowd.

Our zoo has a new African Rift Valley exhibit and the giraffes will walk right up to you for crackers. Miles was so happy to see them up close.
