Update

Sorry no pictures to share. I have taken a lot of video, but for some reason blogger has not been cooperative with uploading it. Anyway, we are halfway through Florida's winter, and it has been cold and rainy, with a few interspersed nice days. Miles and his friend Tyler started the trend of fevers this season, and even though they are all better, eleven kids are out of their class sick today. Miles ran his usual 106 degree temp and hung onto the virus for three days. He did go back to school on Friday, but was really wiped out even over the weekend. Avery never managed to get it, but she was sick about a week and a half before, so there is a good chance she already had it. She has been rather cranky though. She is almost through teething. We are on the last two teeth which should be in any day now (fingers crossed) and then we are done until the two year molars (with my luck should be coming in sooner rather than later).

I had Miles' school conference this week. He seems to be doing well and is staying on track with his speech and language for kindergarten. I wish I had more info to share about when he might start his surgeries, but we are still undecided as to what we are doing and of course that makes it difficult to make plans. More than likely things when get rolling when he turns 6, so we still have a little bit more time to think about it. This year in lieu of a birthday party with friends, Miles has decided he wanted to go to Disney. This works great for us, because now there is no party to plan, no cake and favors to worry about, and no more toys so close to the Christmas overload to try and find a place for. In the end it will all cost about the same and I think a much better time will be had by all. We will do a small family party on his actual birthday, but later that week we will head off to the Magic Kingdom for two days without Avery to celebrate our little man turning 5.

Avery is 16 months now and becoming more of a toddler everyday. She is still bald as a baby and of course that makes her look much younger, but to listen to her talk and watch her big girl attitude roll in, you know she is leaving the baby steps behind. She can be a complete nightmare when she doesn't get what she wants and the terrible two's aren't far behind either. She is not very introverted but the word stoic does still apply. She does share some great giggly moments with those closest to her though. She is quite the performer, loving everyone to sit and watch her dance or sing or run around and be silly. Avery's favorite thing right now is the bath. She will ask repetitively for them at night and is a regular fish once she's in the water. Our next step is potty training and getting her to give up the binkie at night - watch out tough days ahead!

I have gone back to work teaching gymnastics a couple of nights a week, and that has been a nice break to get me out of the house. Chris is still working and enjoying his running. We are all looking forward to a nice warm spring and time to spend outdoors with the kids. There is nothing worse than living in Florida, the only state without snow, and being stuck indoors......come on Spring, WE'RE READY!!!
