Bird of Prey

This guy is a regular in our yard. I believe he is called a Red Shouldered Hawk. Here he is sitting at the top of our light post and then on a tree in our backyard.

Miles' Friend Tyler

I had to post these pictures cause they were too cute.....

This is Miles' friend Tyler after they shared a chocolate chip cookie (that is chocolate not a mustache and goatee)!!

Thanks Wilke's from WI

We have belonged to an online message board for Miles condition since shortly after he was born. It has been a great resource for me these last two years and I can honestly say I would be lost without it. Along the way I have gotten to know some really great families and have even had the opportunity to meet a few of them in person.

I have been corresponding with a woman named Tiffany who lives out in WI with her husband Nate and two boys, and every year for Father's Day week, they come to Clearwater for vacation. We arranged to meet for lunch and then to have their family over for a BBQ before they left. We all had such a nice time visiting with them we were sad to see them go.

Tiffany has a son about 8 months younger than Miles who is also Bilateral Microtia Atresia and wears a BAHA and then she has an older son who is 5 named Eli. Originally we were hoping to get Miles and Manny together to play, but since Manny isn't quite at the age where he initiates play, Miles took very quickly to Eli, who shared his love and enthusiasm for running, jumping and climbing. All he could talk about after they left was Eli, wanting to know where he went and when he was coming back. It will be fun if they come to visit again next year when Manny is older and all three boys can really play together. We were so thankful that they took time out of their vacation to spend a few days with us and we look forward to the next one.

I guess the picture novelty has worn off, cause I have just been forgetting the camera all over the place. I only managed to remember it at the end of their visit when the kids were all outside playing. Here are a few shots from later that evening:
