Little Swimmer
We had the seasonal opening of our neighborhood pool this weekend and decided it would be fun to walk down and see all the festivities. We didn't plan on going in because we have been having a lot of afternoon rains and we were heading down there right around noon. By the time we arrived it was pretty packed, but we headed through the crowd to the kiddie area and found a dry place to park the stroller.
They have a junior olympic pool, a baby pool and a fountain pool. We thought that Miles might enjoy the fountain area, plus the water is shallow enough for him to walk in and not get his clothes wet. He had a blast and even sat down in the water fully dressed at one point. We decided it would be a better idea to come back on Sunday and bring a suit and a swim diaper.
Of course when we returned the next day, he was less than cooperative and actually seemed a little afraid of the spraying fountains. This is typical Miles. Had we brought him back fully clothed, he would have had no reservations, but in his prepared state, he was unable to be pleased. We stayed just until the rain clouds moved in and then we headed home for Miles' well earned nap. I think it will just take some time and some getting used to. I also have to be a little less self conscious of my extreme "whiteness" and don a bathing suit to be able to get in the water with the little mamas-boy. Hopefully the weather will be kind to us this summer and allow for lots of pool-time fun. We didn't take any pictures, but we will try to remember the camera next time.
