Sorry I haven't had a lot of opportunities to post since the sickness of the century took over the house. Miles, Chris and I all got this terrible flu, streppy, cold-like thing that just drags on and on. We leave tomorrow for our trip up north and we are all finally recovering except for this darn cough that just lingers forever. With our antibiotics riding side-saddled, we head up to NY for a week and then over to Ohio for a day and a half and then back home again. Yes, we are driving.......about 9 hour days. We bought a portable DVD player for Miles and have packed a lot of his favorite movies and toys. He managed the 5-6 hour days driving when we moved out to Florida, but this will be almost double the car time, so hopefully he will be content to watch his DVD's.
My biggest fear right now is the sleeping arrangement thing. Miles has only traveled with a porta-crib and now he is in a big boy bed. We have decided to get hotels with 2 queen beds instead of 1 king and I will start out sleeping in one bed with Miles until he falls asleep and then move over to the other (he rolls around a lot at night). At least this is our plan for now. I did bring the porta-crib just in case, but I think he will probably be too big. I am stressing over this whole travel/sleep situation, and it will probably be just fine.
I will post a lot of pictures when we get back. Miles will meet his Great Grandma for the first time in Ohio and spend time with Lola and Lolo for their 50th anniversary in NY. We are really looking forward to visiting with everyone.
