Just to keep everyone updated, we are still moving. We close on the 5th, but will be pre-signing and leaving on the morning of the 4th. It will take us about 5 days to drive to Florida because we can not drive more than 5 or 6 hours with the baby. We are currently trying to find a house to rent from out here in Colorado and have been sending my mom out as the scout to check out properties. Unfortunately there isn't a lot available to us in their terrible market right now, so it has been rather frustrating.
As far as all the packing goes, it is moving along slowly but surely. We had our inspections last night and the realtor indicated that there shouldn't be much we need to do. That was good news considering the reputation of our home builder. (Don't buy Richmond American!)
Miles hasn't picked up on anything even though we shuffle him around from place to place all week long and he hasn't had a consistent nap schedule since we put the house on the market back in May. He still manages to get plenty of toy time in and occasionally watches too much TV because I am so busy doing errands. We are trying to curb that habit as of late when we noticed a little addiction developing. Now he gets more music and reading time. We keep telling him he's going to visit Nana soon and he seems excited, but he probably has no idea what we are talking about. I'm sure he doesn't even know she lives in another state or what another state is for that matter.
Anyway if we can push through this stress, which has come on us tenfold, then we should be okay, even though we only have 13 days before we leave. Chris' job has been horribly busy for him and he has been feeling the pressure to bring work home. I quit working at the gym a couple weeks ago, but not before promising to get their optional team all new floor and beam routines for their 2008 season before I left. I will spend three hours every night for the next two weeks choreographing 18 routines and pulling my hair out left and right. I have only done 6 beam so far and I am running out of ideas, which with 12 left has been a pleasant feeling. I forgot to pick up boxes today which is good, because I was going to use packing as an excuse to not work on a floor routine I have due tomorrow night.......yikes! Keep us in your thoughts and wish us luck. I'd love to say it's going to be a long 2 weeks, but I know it's going to fly. We'll keep everyone posted.

Then and Now

Sold!!
The papers are signed......as of yesterday afternoon, we are officially "Under Contract" on our house. We had a great offer, but unfortunately it came with a quick move-out date. We will be heading to Florida in two and a half weeks. I can't believe it took nine weeks to sell our home and now we get nineteen days to get out. The next couple of weeks are going to be a blur of packing supplies, phone calls and moments of panic, but at least we are on our way. As much as we are ready to go, it is going to be hard to say goodbye to the friends and places we have gotten so attached to in Colorado for the past ten years.
Colorado Springs will always hold a special place in our hearts for the many doors it has opened to us along our journey as a couple. I don't think that when we drove that little white VW Fox across the country ten years ago, we could have imagined our lives the way they are today and as I return to Florida, to live, for the first time in sixteen years I bring all those memories back home again to start life "anew". Without the events of this past year, our lives would have taken a very different turn. It continues to amaze me how quickly things can change and how fast time passes us by. We owe a lot to this little town we have called home for such a long time and Miles will forever be our precious keepsake from that special place we spent a decade of our lives together.
