The Mommy Face
As much as I love my son and I would hope that he loves me, there are special circumstances that are unique to only our relationship. There are certain times when only "Mommy" will do and being "Mommy", I take full advantage of that privilege. Then there are other times when being "Mommy" is incredibly taxing. There is not only a mood that is reserved just for me, but a face. It doesn't matter what kind of day it could have been, if "Mommy" is around, Drama Queen Baby is alive and kickin'. This is the pleasant face that I endure on a daily basis, even when Miles' favorite show is on and he's surrounded by all his toys:

Territory Days
Every year, Old Colorado City hosts Territory Days. It's a western themed fair that runs several blocks of the old downtown and lasts all Memorial Day weekend. We spent a few hours on Sunday walking around and soaking up the nice weather.
Old Colorado City was the original Downtown for Colorado Springs back in the 19th century. It has since been replaced by a more modern downtown a bit farther East and more central to the whole city. It is a large tourist attraction, but its architecture is quaint and the restaurants are very good.
It was warm and crowded, but that's to be expected at any summer festival in the springs. The smell of street fair food filled the air and after living here for almost 10 years the eclecticism of the crowd has become part of the flavor.
The birds are part of an Exhibition of Raptors demonstration for the US Fish and Wildlife Service. The finger belonged to some girl who pointed right as Chris snapped the picture.
This guy is available all year in Old Colorado City, but he makes a big showing during the summer events. Miles got a big kick out of the horse.
We tried to check out the inside of one of the tents, but I think the performers were changing inside.
Jordan & Cole's Birthday
On Saturday we headed up to Denver for Jordan and Cole's second birthday. According to Mommy and Daddy Kirschbaum, it was a whole Mediterranean themed party. The food was tasty and there was also cake and ice cream for the kids. Miles had a good time playing and was really well behaved considering he only had a half hour nap.
