Last Day of School

These were Miles' awards from his last day of school. He can't tell us anything about the Science award (typical Miles....), but  he did tell us about a week ago that he was in first place in his chess division. We didn't know he would get an award and apparently he was on the school news.

Miles Lost His First Tooth

Miles has had a loose tooth forever. The last couple of days it was causing some pain because of a sharp edge underneath and the fact that it was just hanging horizontally. He finally was convinced to let me wrap dental floss around it and pull it out. He didn't even know it was out until it was sitting on the floor in front of him. He felt a lot better after and all the drama was worth the end result. Apparently the going rate for a tooth is $10. That tooth fairy is going to have to make quite the payout to these two Antonio kids. She may need to get a second job to pay for their teeth. 

This whole thing was a big deal to Avery and she had to be a part of it, by touching and holding Miles' tooth. She is always telling us she has a loose tooth. Which isn't even close to true, but we humor her to make her feel a part of it.

Last Soccer Game

We tried to get Miles into league soccer this year, but he had to be 6 by September. A friends I knew were coaching together at the Y and even though I didn't like what Miles learned there last year with a different coach, I knew Coach Bo would do a great job. He even asked Chris to be an assistant coach, which got him more involved. Miles had a great season and learned a lot. We will do league soccer this year, so this is his last year with the Y.

School Luau

Miles' school did a luau for all of the Kindergarten classes to bring parents in and show off all the work they had done all year round. At the end they had cookies and showed a slide show of the students throughout the years activities.

Miles did soccer with the Y again this year. I wasn't impressed with their program last year, but I knew some friends that were going to be coaching the 6-7 year olds, and they talked me into it. I teach their very athletic daughter on my gymnastics team, so I knew they would have at least one good player. They have a couple of other children who were also playing and their youngest was playing at the same time on a different field. It worked out so that they needed an extra assistant coach and Chris was able to fill the spot. Miles did a great job this year and has really grown as a soccer player. He still doesn't like being hot and sweaty, but it has been an extremely hot season so far. Next year Miles will play in the county league, which is very competitive, but this was still a great season, with terrific coaches;)
